Anchor bolts are fasteners used to fix equipment, structures, etc. to concrete foundations and are widely applied in numerous fields such as construction and machinery.
Carbon – steel anchor bolts are typically made from common carbon – steel grades like Q235B. They have a relatively low cost and possess certain strength and toughness, which can meet the fixing requirements of most conventional projects. However, due to the inherent characteristics of carbon steel, they are prone to rust and corrosion in humid environments or in the presence of corrosive media, which affects their service life. Nevertheless, surface treatment processes such as blackening and galvanizing can enhance their anti – corrosion ability to a certain extent.
Stainless – steel anchor bolts commonly use stainless – steel grades such as 304 and 316. Stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance. In harsh environments like coastal areas and chemical plants, it can maintain stable performance for a long time and is not easy to rust or get damaged. Moreover, it has good mechanical properties, and its strength and hardness can also meet the requirements of various working conditions. Although stainless – steel anchor bolts are relatively more expensive, they are a more reliable option in projects with strict requirements for corrosion resistance. They can reduce the costs of later maintenance and replacement, and thus have a relatively high cost – performance ratio in the long run.
